2023 Retrospective and 2024 Projects

Highlights

  • I participated in 9 exhibitions in the Laurentians and Laval

  • I was accepted into the St-Sauv’art painter group and also in L' Atelier d’Aquarelle le Partage, for which I was elected vice president.

  • I now have 2 permanent points of sale: I sell greeting cards at Lu&Relu, St-Sauveur, and I exhibit artwork at the Nook Café in Ste-Adèle.

  • I started a partnership with the Rucher Collectif. As the environment is close to my heart, I am pleased to offer a range of greeting cards and some artwork with a bee and mutual aid theme.

  • « Mellow Dawn » appears as February in the 2024 calendar of St-Sauveur.

  • My paintings of the village church were exhibited at the town hall of St-Sauveur.

  • I started giving art classes at L'Entre-Gens in Ste-Adèle.

  • I followed 3 workshops

Doodle

I created a total of 14 Doodles.

Watercolor

I exhibited 39 watercolor paintings, but I created over 59. Here are the main ones:

Projets in 2024

plan to focus on creating and exploring until June, hence I do not plan to exhibit during this period.

do not plan to make a doodle a month like last year. I would like to switch to quills and Indian ink to make my designs, mainly because I use a huge amount of MICRON pens and this goes against my environmental convictions. I would also like to create more elaborate and complex patterns. Additionally, I would like to explore different mediums and try doing some on canvas and wood panels.

Regarding watercolors, I want to integrate the new techniques I learned last fall. I also have lots of themes I wanted to do in 2023 but I just simply didn't have the time. I've been wanting to paint animals in the snow for the past 2 years, and also paint illustrations of classic stories; for example, a young girl absorbed by a book. I would love to be able to paint full-time! Ideas are teeming!

To improve and facilitate the creation of both doodles and watercolor paintings, I plan to regularly spend time drawing with graphite. Among other things, I want to improve tone gradients and light & shadow.

In July, I will start exhibiting again so you can see my creations live. You will find me at the St-Sauveur Symposium, the St-Sauv'art fall exhibition, and the 40th anniversary of L'Atelier d'Aquarelle Le Partage. I will be back at L'Espace Pauline Vincent in November by popular demand for a solo exhibition. And there will surely be a surprise or two along the way!

I plan to continue to teach at L'Entre-Gens. This spring, we will add drawing lessons for beginners to the watercolor classes. In partnership with the Rucher Collectif, I am also working to offer wishing cards that you can plant. Both these great adventures continue!

That concludes this little recap of last year and the projects to come.

Looking forward to meeting you throughout the year!
